The West Surrey DA operates from the towns of Guildford, Woking, Godalming, Farnham, Haslemere and the nearby villages. We offer a range of cycling related activities which include on- and off-road rides at a range of speeds and over a range of distances. We are not a racing club. Nor are we a club which is primarily interested in long distance cycle touring. Our main activity is to provide an opportunity for cyclists in and around our area to get together for a ride, either on a Sunday or a Wednesday (if you can make it mid-week). Our organised rides mostly take the form of a day ride, starting at about 9.00am. We meet at a variety of locations in our area and take advantage of quiet lanes wherever possible. We stop for coffee mid-morning and then for lunch; often at a pleasant country pub. Alternatively, those who prefer to bring their own food are welcome to do so. In the afternoon we stop for tea and perhaps some cake before the riders make their way home. We plan and publish our rides 3 months ahead. This information can be found on our Runs List - which can be found here on our web site - or in our quarterly magazine which is available for an annual subscription of just £4. Send a cheque made out to West Surrey CTC DA, to 165 York Road, Woking, Surrey, GU22 7XS. The Runs List may look a little daunting at first glance, but that is because we need it to convey the maximum amount of information in a compact format. Take a little time to study how it works and you will find that it contains all the information the local cyclist needs to join us on a ride which will suit his or her interest and ability. Finally, why not take a look at Chris Jeggo's DA History & Archives pages. |
